I'm considering buying a 93 black vert with 87k. they are only asking 3k for the car and the top is new but it does have some issues (missing stereo, muffler needs replaced, door panel is broken, seats are stained)& they won't come down off the price. I know what KBB, edmunds etc. say but i figured since you all own these you would have a better idea of weather it was worth it or not. any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, James

the seats are an easy fix issue. you can steam clean them and get most of the stain out. the stereo and muffler are also low cost easy to fix issues (you really don't want the factory tape deck anyways). The only real issue I would use as leverage is the door panel. The interior panels, if you can get one from the factory, cost almost $1000. Insane. You might be able to use that to talk them down a bit, but considering how tough they seem to acting about the price, that might be even a hard sell to make.

$3K is fair for that car in that condition if the paint and body are clean.

I'd pull the trigger.

Maybe i can get an old panel from a junkyard somewhere. This site has been more helpful by far then any of the honda forms i frequented for my integra. Thanks for the help!

$2700 cash+tax and tag so your back to 3k. Because of the problems. Get a printed out quote form nissan of OEM replacement parts. Bring that to the table. There is at least a 40% Markup on the vehicle. so they are making at least $500 on that sale. And probaly $100 is goign to to seller so that's $400 profit for the business.Chances are it is more likely a 60% markup so the business will be making more and would rather get a new vehicle in to make more profit.I just got custom SS exhaust for 255.55 todayDoor panels are pretty cheap. Seats?what you expect for old car. and stereo? You are going to put a real one in anywayz........ right?

Its official you now have another convertible owner on this forum It rained buckets on the way back from the lot and i found some leaks but they weren't in the roof, apparently ther is a small plastic corner missing from the front right convert top and the right rear window is tilted forward somehow leaving a 1/2" gap between the back edge, i'll tear it apart and look at it when i get the chance, My friends are impressed and some random guy at a gas station on the way back from the lot commented on how clean it looked and how he was going to buy one but just had another kid. Overall i'm etreamly happy and am looking forward to fixing it up.

wow, i'm glad i don't have that much work to do! i only have the pic form the ad right now, i'll post up some better ones when i borrow a camera. Last weekend i fixed the rear window, apparently the mounting bolt had simply come loose form the chassis and works fine now. While fixing this i noticed i am missing the rubber weatherstripping that goes directly above the windows on both sides. The nissian dealer said they only had the left side and wanted $85 for it. I called all the junkyards in the area but nobody even had a convertible in their lots. right now i have a piece of black pipe foam on each side as a temp fix. Does anyone know where i can get these reasonably or at least the right side one? Also i seam to be dripping gas while the car is running down the left back corner of the tank. The tank seems solid and i'm betting its to do with the fuel lines, any suggestions before i take it apart this week? Thanks!

Dude your car is identical to mine. The vert parts are very very hard to find, 1 the cars were only made for a couple yrs. 2 the tops were never originally installed by nissan. It was a company here in the US. So nissan used to source their parts from them. What ever parts nissan has are in stock parts and no new parts are being made unless it is common among the other models for those yrs. You will have to get creative when getting parts for it, even having them fabricated. I just had to have a fork lift repair shop make me some hydrolic lines for the convertable top motor...lol

I can't believe it only took you 2 weeks to put that all back togeather nistech, you must have really wanted to go crusing, haha.so here she is all shined up, i found the gas leak, apparently the person before me backed into somthing hard, the tank is crumpled and the seam weld is slightly busted on the side, i fixed it with some gas tank putty and i think it will do fine fopr now. i found out the area below the trunk is 1/2" in and doesn't meet the trunk lid flush like it is supposed to and the trunk or gas release is broken. also when they repainted the back bumper they painted over the lic. plate lights,oh well. I went to get the tires balenced since it had the shakes on the highway and found out the front im is bent and i have three different tire brands and three right side direntional tires thus one gonig the wrong way. I'm prolly just going to wait until spring and geta decent set of 17's. anywho, i'm still working on finding the rubber weatherstripping that goes above the windows and a coner plastic piece that gows on the windshield edge...thanks fow the compliments and encouragement
