I just purchased a black G37 Convertible, love the car, my 4th Infiniti. My issue is the top mechanism which is supported by struts in the trunk, the ones I believe are going bad, due to the fact when the trunk goes into the open position it goes hard as when it closes the trunk hits the car hard in. They are located at the end of th trunk closest to the bumper, one end is easy to get at, the issue is the other end of the strut is deep in th trunk and not easy to get at, my questions are How do I get to the end of strut? there is a plastic piece on the top of the trunk that I think has to be remove, how do I remove it? then there is the grey cardboard that needs to be move how do I remove it? I appreciate the assistance as this

You should be able to download FSM from signature and determine best method to remove those struts.
