Convertible top hydraulic lines FYI and alternatives.

I was trying to buy the left side hydro line for my vert over the last 2 weeks. The lines for each side of the car are 2 different lengths. The right side being the shorter one.

Hers the FYI part. I recieved the part about 4 days after I ordered it. Hmm the part # is for the left side, the bag has an "L" to indicate its left. Ok its gotta be a mispackage. We order another one. Again it is the right side in the left sides packaging. Ok lets order a right side one and see what we get. Oh what do you mean its been discontinued . Ok lets do a search of every PDC[parts distribution center] and dealer in the united states. None, Nadda, No dice. Ok time to pull out all the stops, lets call the only PDC in the country that has like 10 of the left side part number [theres like 20 PDC's nation wide] And have him walk his but back there and measure all of them and see if they are all right sides. He opens every bag or box back there and low and behold they are all right side hoses. So a parts supply change will take place as a result of this. But that means the left side, the one I need, is no longer available . Mine has a crack in the up line and shoots oil out like a sprinkler.

My parts guy Chris straight up rocks. Here is the alternative part. He locates a place that can manufacturer these hoses in less then 2 hrs time from pick up to return of new parts. It took me 2 weeks to have these hoses made the same day of request.

So to wrap this up if any of you have a left hose go out on ya I have a source to have them made. About 20 bucks is the goin rate. New from nissan the hoses were like 60 retail 45 my cost had they been available.

EDIT:2-14-08 Sorry havent been around much so I never saw this post. Go to your local fork lift repair shop and have them made. the hoses are the same as the ones they use for the fork hydrolics. Take the old hoses with you to match them up.
