Wow. $40? That is the cheapest I've ever heard of anyone getting one for. What sort of condition is it in? What a steal. You should be happy. They can go for $400-$500 at times ($300 average I'd say?). Any way, to answer your question. I would never attempt to put mine in the trunk. Of course living here in sunny San Diego, I've only had to put my top up three times in the year plus that I've Had it. On those occasions what I did was fold it as slightly as possible and put it in the back seat. Not much help I guess.

You got an AMAZING deal on that boot, don't jinx it by putting it in the trunk, you'll crack it. If you HAVE to store it in your car, try the backseat. Other than that, store it in doors/on a wall or something. Don't break it, it'll proly be the last one you ever own

living here in the great white north michigan (aka canada to some of my fellow vert peeps ), the boot spent a lot of time in the trunk. i never had a problem with creases or cracking - well, except that plastic trim piece on the bottom... but that was cracked before i got it. you just fold the sides under the center and stuff it in the trunk. did you get the bag thing for it too?

BUT i'd avoid keeping it in your trunk as much as possible. when you know you're not going to need it, stick it somewhere at home.

props on the great deal by the way.

way to go driftsidewayzs13!!!

^-- walks up to the door at Ft Knox and asks the brand new security guard if any gold bars are for sale.. The dude says, "Sure.. how about $40.00". driftsidewayzs13 says.. "Hmm... ok, I'll take one!"

nice deal my friend!!! Way to keep your eyes open. If you see another one.. be sure to snatch it up and offer it to another member here on the boards.

As for your question.. see Dexter's response.. they are meant to be folded in thirds and stored in a bag in the trunk. Personally.. as the others have said.. now that it's as much as 15 years old.. I'd probably leave it in the garage unfolded when not using it.
