Convert power outlet to remain on when engine off

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Has anyone tried changing the wiring so as to allow one of the power outlets to be hot all the time? I would like to be able to charge my phone with the car not running. I don't think that would be any significant drain to the battery at all.
