No. It doesn't with the Versa and shouldn't with other cars. Dealers get cars in all the time, they are called allocations. When you're placing an "factory order" you're really just replacing one of the cars the dealer's allocation. The dealer would probably get 7 V's on the next month's allocation, which would be the first 7 cars available from the factory. When you place your order, the dealer tells the factory to give them the first 6 available and one configured this specific way. There no additional charges associated with request a specific combination, but you will have to wait for the car to be built. This can range from as low as 6 weeks to as high as 18 weeks. You're in NY, so it should take around a normal 3 months to get it in. Northwest US and West Canada normally have delays associate with their orders.
I find that dealers are more inclined to "deal" when you want to order a car. Why? Because as soon as the car hits the ground, it's sold. Unlike the other cars they get from the factory that may sit on the lot for a few weeks to a few months. That equals interest payments for them. Also when you special order, it's more likely that you will purchase more options than the options already installed on the car on the lot. More options mean more $$ for the dealer. If he can talk you into getting all the option and you ask for $100 off, there's a good chance that he's still cleared $250 to $500 in profit. You got a discount and he can pay his employees.
