Hey guys,

I just started my car up today and noticed that my control panel (including the stereo and AC buttons) are all dimmer!! They've all become slightly ( very noticble for me) dimmer orange. It kinda has a dead feeling to it now.

However, when i turn my headlights from auto to off the control panel (The speedometer and etc) gets brighter but my stereo and other buttons completely turn off, the orange glow disappears.

Is there a button that I hit to make it this way? Can anyone help? :P

on your gauge cluster, there's 2 black knobs that stick out, the one of the left is the brightness controller, turn it all the way clockwise and then you dash and radio brightness will stay at max brightness at all times. if you turn it almost to full, then your radio and gauges will be slightly dimmer when your headlights turn on, and be on full when your headlights are off (which it sounds like it's on right now)

How do you guys not push every button and turn every dial to see what it does when you get a new car?

I guess I'm the only one that is like a 6 year old around new things when I buy them.

Exactly! The day after I bought it, I went page by page through the manual while sitting inside my car, which was on the driveway. Took me about 2 hours! I set my Bluetooth voice commands, Nav map locations (complete with a little jingle when I get near certain places!), maintenance reminders (I REALLY hate it when I'm driving and the OIL MAINTENANCE light comes on...I've gotten used to it now, but the first time it showed up I damn near s*** my pants until I realized what it was for!) and even read how to buckle in a child seat. I don't have a child nor do I plan to have one in the near future, but if I find myself in a situation where I have to safely buckle a child seat into the back of my car, I can do it with no problems!!

Thats WTF I'm talking about... I was beginning to think I was the only one that reads the manual for things when I buy them...

do you know how many times folks have started threads asking this same question...

"My windows won't automatically roll up anymore, what do I do"...

here's what you do.... READ YOUR PHUCKING CAR MANUAL

... ok, done venting now...

wait a second... I just saw who the OP was... it's CHOW... dude you've had your car for TWO years now... and you never played with that little thing in your car... wait, that didn't come out right...

Ooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Other than that I hit every damn button to see what it does. The worst it can do is pop open a lid or maybe start the car in our case.

I did this same exact thing. The day after I got my car (car was purchased super late at night) I sat in my car looking at every page of the manual while my girlfriend (at the time) was sitting in my room pissed that I was sitting in my car instead of being with her I saw that page with the child seat and I was like "Cool I have a little latch over here" then I hopped in back and checked it out hahaha.

Also with the brightness thing. If you have your lights off you can adjust the brightness to how bright you want it with the lights off. and when you turn the lights on you can adjust the brightness on how bright/dim you want it when you switch on the lights.

Mine is set at one below max when the lights are off and one above off when the lights are on
