It's been awhile since my last post. Been busy with work and playing too much World of Warcraft (an evil game that keeps me from driving my car, lol).

At any rate, as funding becomes available, I do more stereo work. Here's the latest phase, which included the installation of amp #2, front speakers and the sub.

So far, I've got Focal 165 K2Ps in the front doors, MB Quart QSD 216s in the rear deck, a single JL Audio 10W6 with a custom fiberglass enclosure in the trunk hanging out with a pair of Alpine PDX series amps that run the show.

The third (and hopefully final) phase will invovle ripping out the factory deck and putting in an Alpine double din head unit. My installer seems to think he can save my factory navi, but we'll see once the fundage is available.

It sounds great!!

Now if I could just figure out how to post my pics

Use photobucket.com to host your pics. I was looking at the Focal's to replace the Bose speakers...I love their sound!

And yeah, Joe, those Focals were by far the best speakers I listened to when trying to decide. And for the money I've spent to date, they better be

Sound Innovations here in northern Cali did it for me. I went in there and told them I wanted to maintain as much space as humanly possible in my gargantuan trunk, and that's what they came up with.

The only problem you might have with mounting a pair of subs is that the space where my sub goes isn't mirrored on the other side of the car because of the fuel pipe. It's smaller on the right side because of it.

What do you mean "save" your factory nav?

Just get the JDM double din kit and you shouldnt have a problem.

I used it, but right now i'm just using an ALPINE single din H.U.

He was referring to the controls for the factory navi, I believe. Without those, it won't do much good.

But I haven't gone into huge amounts of detail with him on that front as the head unit is still a ways off.

I had mine done as a package deal for $3500, which included the Alpine PDX 1.600 amp, the JL sub, the enclosure, the Focals and moving the MBs from the front doors to the rear deck.

But I just talked to the installer and he said he would probably charge anywhere between $600 and $1200 for the enclosure if someone just wanted those.

Thats what I'm talking about. Get the JDM kit, EVERYTHING but the stereo can remain stock if you use this finish piece....

http://www.grubbsperformance.c...Frontlink to one place you can buy it at, there are several. you can even check ebay.

Yeah, that's true Highside. But with those, you can keep the cargo net and mat. I had to remove both of mine. Great info Rivalry.

And Willey, thanks a ton for that link!!! Now I just need to find one with the dual climate button and I'll be good to go when I'm ready for that final upgrade. If only I had the cash now...
