Need to replace my daughter's tires.
Can get a deal on Conti Extreme Contact DWS which are UHP A/S.
Normally, replacement is HP A/S I believe.

Anyway, has anybody had experience with these tires?? In the snow?? :gotme

She will be living in the NC mountains (ASU).
Lots of snow last year and her Yoko Avids did great even tho they are not rated so well for snow. Hoping the DWS is better.

I replaced the Yoko S-Drives on my G coupe with these DWS hoping to get better A/S performance, but did sacrifice cornering due to a softer sidewall....but, still not bad. The S-Drives were just awesome.

Thanks!!

** Update: Have found deal on Yoko ENVigors, so think I'll go with those....any feedback??

Haven't tried the ENVigors, but I think that aside from Ono, you really can't go wrong with Yokos. I have loved my AVID TRZs and now my Advan S.4s. Both sets were great all seasonal tires for the Northeast.

Ono! :lolling:

We put TRZ's on my son's 05 Focus and it did great in the snows that we got last Winter!!!

I went with the DWS's on my coupe instead of the Advan S.4's.....not sure if that was a mistake yet....softer side walls than the S-Drives they replaced.
The S-Drives were awesome on dry and wet!!!
But was a no-go in snow!!!!

The Extreme Contacts aren't built for snow. Directional tire+snow= not so great. Pick up a non-directional A/S tire and use that.

DWS's are not directional.
I can rotate side-side, but not front to back due to wheel sizes on my G Coupe.

I stand corrected. I was thinking of the General Exclaim UHP. Same company, different tire.

I used to be in the tire business so I know a thing or two. Also, check out reviews on Tire Rack's site for people in the climate she's be in.

Check Tire Racks own review of the DWS. It did very well in the snow compared to the others in the line up.

Thanks guys! Pulled the trigger on a 4 new Yoko ENVigors. 573 out the door. They beat the Nissan buy 3 get 1 for $1 deal. Decided since we've had such good luck with Yokos in the past to just stick with them.
We'll see how well my Conti's do on my G in the snow....hopefully I won't regret not putting Yoko's back on it.
