I have a 1995 Path, FULLY loaded. It has 154k, heated leather, sunroof, power windows / locks, remote start, keyless entry, roof rack, DvD player, 4 Wheel disc, 4x4, Auto, Adjustable suspension, even Limited Slip axels. The KBB comes out to $4000 on it. I don't think it is worth that. The truck runs and drives great, and it is riding on 4 Cooper 31 x 10.5 with about 8k miles on them. The interior has some stains, and the Paint is old and chalky, it has the usual rust problems, but it is solid all the way around. At one point the previous owner caulked a window (I'm assuming it was leaking). I'm just looking for a reasonable price to sell this for / offers. I figured I would ask as I want what it is worth. I need the cash or I would never sell it, so I'm trying to get as much as I can. It still brings a smile to my face every time I drive it. I took some pics, but it was dark. I'll get better exterior pics tomorrow.

The cargo area. Its stained but the garbage will obviously be gone before I sell it.

It does have a nice stereo and dvd player.... rare leather... But there is rust all over, I bet the frame is rusty, and that custom window caulk and custom pinstriping is going to cost you.... I'd guess $4000

Do you really think so? I was thinking $2500 was a more reasonable price for it.

I'd be happy if I got above 2k for one with that much cancer, but then again maybe people are more accepting of rust where you live. Down here it is not much of an issue. I'd suggest cleaning the living hell out of it before selling it, in fact maybe have it professionally cleaned.

It does have low mileage and leather interior going for it. I think if it was super clean you might break into the 3's

Yeah I plan to clean it out before I sell it. I use to own a cleaning service, so I'll be able to handle that part. But the stains in the hatch will never come out. I have doubts about a few up front. As far as the rust thing. That is way less rust than most 95s around here. I get comments on how "good it still looks" all the time from other truck owners.

The rust on the spare tire rack, and where it mounts to the body, i'd just go over that with some primer and then flat black spray paint. Cleaning it will make a hell of a difference, get the carpets steam cleaned (make sure it's really steam cleaned, sometimes called hot water extraction, because most detail places just use an aerosol can of cheap stuff and they call it shampooing). Your carpets will be wet for a few days, just let it dry and it will smell great. A good detail should run you $200-$300. This should be inside and out, make sure they armor-all everything they can, and leather conditioner on anything leather, but probably not including a real steam cleaning. You can also strategically hide some air fresheners. The smallest things make the biggest difference. My favorite is the tree one, "Vanillaroma" but it really smells more like fruit, nothing like vanilla. And yeah i'm probably thinking of so-cal prices. The cheapest home here is 500k and a barely running 84 cadillac deville costs $5000.

Good luck on the sale.

dang, maybe I should ship cars to california to sell...

A guy from buffalo bought my blue S14 from me a while back and was ecstatic about how it was a clean georgia car. It's sad to see cars I love get run down, I'm sure its worse on you guys up north where cancer gets everything. I think you'll get more than most of us think simply because you are going to clean it up and because the market where you are is probably more simpathetic to rust. Down here, a car with that much rust would be damned. I almost would not mind sending a few more GA cars up there to sell, I bet they'd sell like hotcakes.

They do. I know of 3 places off the top of my head that sell Southern Cars exclusively. They actually go for MORE than book value since there is little to no rust.

To me, it was a 10 year old 150k mile Nissan. To the guy I sold it to in San Diego, my 97 240sx was a steal -- you can't find them for the price I sold it for, but could never make that sort of money off of it here in Indiana.
