I come to NICO as an owner of a 2002 Q45 with 63K miles I bought a year ago.

My wife has been bugging me to trade her 2008 Mustang Convertible with 55K. She has been very picky because she likes the AC louvers on the 'Stang. Suddenly last week she came home wanting to look at Infinitis because she saw an attractive lease ad in the newspaper.

I had previously leased a new '96 I30 only to learn later that it was simply a Maxima in leather. True, at the time, the list prices of the comparably equipped cars was almost identical. I had avoided the entry level Infiniti thinking it was a rebadged Altima.

While the engine volume is the same, the G25 and Altima turn out to be entirely different cars. The Altima is a FWD I4 while the G25 is a RWD V6 (sold in cars for the Japanese market). Otherwise the G25 appears to be a G37 with a reduced set of options selling for about 4-5K less.

First question, is there any room left in the dealer's pricing in these Nissan finance deals?

Second question, has anyone discovered anything about the G25 contrary to my impressions?

Third, there are three Infiniti dealers within an hour's drive, is there any reason not to shop for the best out the door net price? :gotme

Thanks in advance

Just an FYI,

Spend the day and 250 miles visiting three dealers. Here are the results:

The total lease cost difference among the three stealerships was $1650. The lowest cost offer was hungrier because of major roadwork limiting customer traffic and was $500 cheaper than the next closest.

First impressions on the G25:

Snugger than my Q.
Performance may not be up to the G37 but still plenty of pickup.

As usual, Infiniti is totally screwing up the marketing by ignoring this jewel. The salesman's theory is lure them in with a G37 and then offer the G25 as a consolation. Marketing people compare this vehicle against the Lexus IS250, Acura TL, BMW 3 series. They are totally missing a new generation of vehicles like the Buick Regal, Volvo S60, and VW CC where the G25 is a competitive step up.

might as well get a g37 for a couple thousand more in my opinion...

as you see nissian and infiniti vary in drivetrain (FWD vs RWD/AWD) and pack more features.

But the 2011 maxima has every feature a 2011 G37 has except its FWD and 30 less horse power.
