It can be done in the BCM using the Consult III.Dmix wrote:Yes a master list is what I was looking for. I went to the dealer to get the locks changed from auto lock after 20 to auto lock when not in park but they said it can't be done. Guess I'll scan through the fsm for a few months lol. Thanks guys.
It's in the Door Locks (DLK 30-31) and the Body Control System (BCS 14-15) sections.Dmix wrote:Where in the fsm is that? I'll print it off and bring it to the dealer.
Thank you.Debonair wrote:It's in the Door Locks (DLK 30-31) and the Body Control System (BCS 14-15) sections.Dmix wrote:Where in the fsm is that? I'll print it off and bring it to the dealer.
I'll have to add this to the list to get done next time I'm at the dealer.m35xlou1 wrote:Just came back from service. Car door locks open on (P)ark now! No charge! Sweet!
Sounds like they are not familiar with the process which is not surprising since its not a common one and it's a little buried in the BCM menu. Or the service writer and/or technician are simply disinterested in doing it and won't go into the Consult SW to look for it. The lazy "its not available" response is so much easier. My 2011 has these options BTW.TLoc wrote:I was at the dealer today and asked if I could get the door unlock in park thing done and they said it was not available for my vehicle. I have a 2012 M37X. Is it different from the 2013? Anybody know?

From the FSM:
BCM > WORK SUPPORT > AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCK SELECT
Automatic door lock function mode can be selected from the following in this mode
• VH SPD: All doors are locked when vehicle speed more than 24 km/h (15MPH)
• P RANGE: All doors are locked when shifting the selector lever from P position to other than the P position
Glad you got it done but $100. Ouch.Dmix wrote:I got it done. They charged me $100.

Haha! PLEASE get that on video.TLoc wrote:I was actually there to get a new key. I figured they had to use the tool to program the key so they might as well take care of the locks while they were in there. I wanted to argue a bit when he said it wasn't an option but I wasn't sure I was 100% right. I think I will slide back by there and show him your post. Then ask him if he's ignorant or lazy. That should work, right?Debonair wrote:

The third frame below from the OEM service manual shows them. Looks like key-off = unlock doors. The "more" button on the scan tool displays the other three options (same options, just not the same order as the OEM tool).DoN_BLaZe34 wrote:What exactly is the third option for the door locks?
