Is there a list somewhere of the options we can change using the consult tool?

Welcome to the forum.

The Consult device is pretty much the all-in-one device for this car and you can control pretty much all the computers with it from the ECM, BCM, etc. I've never come across a list though but I imagine it would be the same for this car as it is any other car from Nissan.

Sounds like you are after a master list of customizable settings like door locks, light timers, etc. I know Lexus has a list like this for their cars but I have yet to see a similar one for Nissan/Infiniti cars. Their settings so far have been scattered and buried in the factory Service Manual. You can view it HERE.

Yes a master list is what I was looking for. I went to the dealer to get the locks changed from auto lock after 20 to auto lock when not in park but they said it can't be done. Guess I'll scan through the fsm for a few months lol. Thanks guys.

It can be done in the BCM using the Consult III.

From the FSM:

BCM > WORK SUPPORT > AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCK SELECT
Automatic door lock function mode can be selected from the following in this mode
• VH SPD: All doors are locked when vehicle speed more than 24 km/h (15MPH)
• P RANGE: All doors are locked when shifting the selector lever from P position to other than the P position

Ya I figured it could but the dealer said my model can't be programmed for that option.

Where in the fsm is that? I'll print it off and bring it to the dealer.

It's in the Door Locks (DLK 30-31) and the Body Control System (BCS 14-15) sections.

Great Post Debonair! i just purchased a '13 m37x and was interested in changing the "unlock on off" to "unlock on (P)ark". I have an appointment this Friday for getting a 2nd key. Has anyone else had this changed? Also was interested in the "Welcome lighting". Otherwise I will let you know what I find out.

I'll have to add this to the list to get done next time I'm at the dealer.

I was at the dealer today and asked if I could get the door unlock in park thing done and they said it was not available for my vehicle. I have a 2012 M37X. Is it different from the 2013? Anybody know?

Sounds like they are not familiar with the process which is not surprising since its not a common one and it's a little buried in the BCM menu. Or the service writer and/or technician are simply disinterested in doing it and won't go into the Consult SW to look for it. The lazy "its not available" response is so much easier. My 2011 has these options BTW.

I was actually there to get a new key. I figured they had to use the tool to program the key so they might as well take care of the locks while they were in there. I wanted to argue a bit when he said it wasn't an option but I wasn't sure I was 100% right. I think I will slide back by there and show him your post. Then ask him if he's ignorant or lazy. That should work, right?

Is it possible to program the rear shade to go back up after you reverse?
Also can you make it so the blind spot/lane beeping is defaulted as off each time you start that car?

The sunshade option would be great. They probably don't allow it because they're both safety things so they want you to manually have to do it. Idk just a guess. To get rid of the lane departure beep put electrical tape over the camera

For me I don't want it to unlock in park. Maybe I'm paranoid lol.

Ilya hopefully you have better luck at our dealer. I asked about the timing advance and they said can't do it and not a good idea even if they could.

If you or a mechanic friend have access to a Snap-on scan tool you can adjust the timing with it. I bumped mine up a few degrees a while ago before I changed my mufflers. I did not see a positive change so I put it back. I may try it again now.

With the newest software they also added all the Work Support customization options. No Consult needed IF you can get access to a Snap-on scanner with the newest SW.

That's sweet thanks for sharing this.

The timing advance of 2° is only really going to be seen positive or negative on a dyno in steady state or at the track if you're consistent enough. It's not going to be a huge difference either way.

I would like to do it because it's still technically stock and that small amount might be enough to edge it into the 12's.

What exactly is the third option for the door locks? "Unlock all door when key out"?

The third frame below from the OEM service manual shows them. Looks like key-off = unlock doors. The "more" button on the scan tool displays the other three options (same options, just not the same order as the OEM tool).

Thanks for the clarification.

I had my dealership attempt to do this, it appears they performed automatic door lock procedure and not the automatic door unlock sequence. When i questioned this, they told me they couldn't find anything else. Ugh I'll have to go back.
