If someone purchased this unit and then needed to buy a card to work with a Q45, do you know how much the card would cost and if it's even available at this point?

I recall the last one going for around $4,500 on ebay that was posted about 2 months ago. The price shot up at the very end of the auction, but I think it had more cards.

Better get the current members price from Scottsdale Infiniti. We haven't purchased any new cards for Consult I in 3 years.

You will need 2 Infiniti specific cards, 3 if active suspension.

For a Consult I? That seems steep.

I've yet to see good deals on factory diagnostic equipment on ebay, even the ford NGS was going for about 2,000.

Dunno much 'bout Consult (nor whether it would be useful to have one), but, the URL mentioned above points to the following 9-card system (with a dead battery) which sold a couple of weeks ago on EBAY for $1200 US dollars ( http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...%3AIT )

Is a Consult diagnostic tool only for SERIOUS DIY mechanics? Or does the everyday Infiniti Q45 owner have a good reason to own one?For example, would it work on all Nissan/Infiniti Q45's, not just the 1990?

Maybe if you had a local club of Nissan/Infinti owners it would be a good way to chip in and buy one, but unless you are rolling in cash I wouldn't buy one.

It would definately come in handy if you are planning off the wall mods like boost, etc.

Here's one that just went for $860.

No cards, no manual although he said he'd send one. Jumped up $150+ in the last minute. I bid it up a little, but not much since I didn't know how much the cards would cost.

Didn't notice that before! The Consult should be happy back in it's homeland though. Wonder what shipping from Jamaica to Japan costs?
