I went ot AutoZone today and borrowed their Consult (?) to read the check engine codes but could not find the connection under the hood. Where is it? I've been searching NICO posts for an hour now and can't find reference to it although I know I've seen it somewhere. FSM was not much help although I'm sure it's somewhere in the "bible".

Also, AutoZone only had the consult for OBD II. Is this the right one for a '94? Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately for you the consult is useless for your needs. 1996 was the first year OBDII was put in the Q and if im not mistaken other cars. the only thing you can really do is run the self diagnostic.

Dealer or maybe an independent Z shop will have Consult I with correct cards.

Thanks. The Gentleman behind the counter thought that '95 might have been the first year but I looked anyway. I guess that explains why I couldnt find the plug.

I'll try and work my way through the FSM to pull the codes.
