I purchased a consult board a long time ago and I'm trying to find a good 9-pin serial to usb converter cable that actually works. I recently bought one and it didnt for nothing. Does anyone have a consult boad and has a cable that works perfectly fine? I don't want to get ripped off for buying an expensive one when it's not necessary, nor do I dont want to buy a cheap one that doesn't work.

Thanks guys

EDIT: I'm asking where you got guys got it. I don't want to buy it from anyone.

my friend and i used to use this airlink serial>usb cable, worked out pretty good(for being so cheap anywayz, you may want to get a better quality, as after sometime the solders came off the inside of the board, but the cable still worked just fine before), bought @ fry's electronics.

btw did you install the driver for your converter? usually these need drivers as sometimes xp doesn't have 1, also did you check which com port was it using and set it up on your consult software?.

Yeah I had to keep reinstalling the driver because for some reason it wanted too. It was pissing me off like hell. But thanks for heads up, I'll look into that.

Look for an adapter form the company you got the cable from. I think PLMS sells an adapter, but its prolly not the cheapest option.
