Good evening, Nicoforum. Long time listener, first time caller...
I'll try to make a long story short.
Bought an 04 Armada recently (absolute beast) and the 4WD light is on. Went through the diagnostic steps provided by the tech manuals on this site and noticed it has diagnostic options for the Consult 3. Now, I have a technical and diagnostic background, so I'm *pretty sure* I've narrowed down my problem, but since I have 2 of these Armadas I figured check out what this consult can do to make this easier and maybe verify my diag. So, I ordered one off of cnautotool. Issue I'm having is the software isn't installing on my computer correctly. I have to run it through the compatibility manager using Win XP to get it to even install, but when I run it I get “The procedure entry point GetFileVersionInfoA could not be located in the dynamic link library”. I'm decent with computers, but not enough to go digging around dll files.
Has anyone else had this problem? What software have you used to make Consult work?

Hi, welcome to NICO.
Have you contacted the vendor for the software?
Also, am I reading correctly you're using an XP emulator instead of a dedicated XP machine?

All of my experience with Consult has been via a Nissan employee.

Not an XP emulator perse, just changed compatibility settings. But I will look into an emulator.
And yes, I've started talking to the distributor, but I like gathering all the info I can.

I wish I could help you from here - all I would know to do is run a WindowsXP VM and install everything there. My software background says something botched in the installer and it missed some libraries (if that dll is a part of Consult III installation). If that dll is part of XP (or another version of windows) it's some sort of other configuration issue.
