I guess Infiniti really start to screw their customer over for these small items

I am surprised that the cargo area cover is now optional and it cost so much to get itIt suppose to be standard for brand like Infiniti

The tray was standard on my EX 2010. Still irritating that the cargo cover was not, but am very happy with this car. Perfect for me in every way.

over the weekend, while i was away in baltimore, my dad swung by and took my EX to the dealership to have them stick on the Infiniti Emblem and EX35 markers (took a long time because they ordered a new set, and refused to take em off an existing model) -

while he was there, (completely unaware that i knew that our 2010's dont have a center console tray) - he mentioned to the service guy that he didnt see a center console tray.

The technician told him that it should, and that if it wasn't there, that it was probably stolen or lifted during some time when the car was transported.

so as of Sat, they immediately got a new tray from their parts section and gave that to my dad.

On top of that, they did a full detail on the exterior + interior - in lieu of the fact that they messed up and gave me a car with no emblem/markings on the back.

btw this was done by Infiniti of Manhasset. - for future buyers or current owners, if you go there, ask to speak with Darren - and that "big daddy" sent you. - (i know you think that sounds weird, but just trust me)

so John, i think you should see if Infiniti will cover the fee of you buying ur own tray. Unless my dealership decided to cough up $32 to keep me happy, but i really can't imagine us NOT having that try.

If weather permits i will take pictures of the car (hopefully) still clean after work tomorrow.

I was the one who posted the sites where you could find this part in the other thread. As stated in that thread, our '10 also didn't come with the tray but I got the dealer to send one to me, free of charge.

JCL622, you know why the dealer didn't just take the emblems off another vehicle, right? They're usually stuck on with adhesive/double-sided tape. If they ripped it off one car, they'd have a tough time reapplying those same badges to your car. Besides, it's also a little bit of a PITA to debadge a car.

it's really not that hard to take off the emblems, a blow dryer for a few minutes would be fine, i've done it to all my cars.

anyway, so iono if you wanna sticky this or do something but, i think all 2010 owners that are newy buying should consider asking their dealership. Like mUgen, when asked, the dealership pretty much just grabbed a new one out of the parts department and gave it for free

Thanks for providing the link to where you ordered your tray. I also just took delivery of an '10 EX w/Journey Pkg., and no center console tray included either. For $41k, you'd expect Infinity to include not only a cheap plastic tray, but also the Tonneau cover for the back cargo area as well. Instead of trying to go through any hassles with my dealer, I just ordered a tray like you did.

I miss by BMW 530i already.....

ya, I have to agree that a lot of the details are missing from INfiniti, after owning a Lexus for 3 years, i've notice all those little things missing in the Infiniti, where it was standard on the Lexus.

for example, the welcome light that's under the driver side rear mirror.there isn't one on the passenger side. that was standard on both side for Lexus.

Also the small foot light in the front seat, there isn't any for the infiniti, but standard on the lexus.

the Homelink control is not standard?????? *sigh* it was standard on all my past 2 veh. that I have own. now its an option with the Prem. package?that's really sad!!!!

Infiniti have really cut back on those little things!!! Normally you would get them standard on most of the Lexury car. but I guess the trade off is that they have a more powerful engine!

I guess nothing is perfect. You either get the comfort, or the performance. can't have it all

I ordered the console tray over a month ago. They are out of stock and waiting for a delivery from Japan. It may arrive in the next month or so.

ok...all you 2010 EX owners.this is what I have found out as I was going through the 2010 EX owner's Manual. On page 2-45, for the console box access, it refers to the inner tray. as if it was a standard equiptment, not optional!Usually if it is optional, they would put (optional) or if you have model 1, or model 2, they are differently equipted.Since the Inner tray is not even a listed optional equiptment in any of the package, for all we know is that they forgot to put it in all the 2010 EX35. since it WAS standard before on 2009 and 2008!!!

Base on that, it will be very reasonable for the owners to ask the dealership for one.

I am going to give it a try, see what happens.

Funny..I noticed the same thing in the manual. Pointed it out to my dealer. He said, "no problem.. I'll grab you one next time you're in." Next time I was in, he walked around to around 12 different cars and couldn't find one in any of them..

It's not that important to me that I'll press the issue any more, but I think you have a good case if your dealer can get their hands on one.

that's exactly what i did. they grabbed a new one out of parts dept, and gave it to me and apologized.

it's really not a big deal, but it's nice if the dealership does it for you, and i'm willing to bet most of the time they are

Ok guys, here is the update.

I finally called my Infiniti Dealer today, asked for the service dept.I let them know that I was missing the tray, and I found out that I am suppose to have the tray from the User's manual.then service rep told transfer me to the Sales, saying they can help me.I talked to an Internet sales manger, took my Call back # and name. saying a customer service rep will give me a call back right away.about 3, 4 hours went by. no calls.so i called again, ask for the service dept. one of the rep trys to transfer me to Sales dept again. where I got the front desk, I told them I have been transfering back and forth. I told her my story, and she took down my # and name, told me the manager on duty will call me right back.less than 5 mins later, got the call from the Manager, explained my situation. He was pretty nice, and told me that he can't believe I didn't get a tray. He offered to mail me one, or I can go in and pick it up.so that's it....I'll be picking up my Little Tray tomorrow.overall was pretty painless, took about 15 mins on the phone all together.not bad.

so, if any of you didn't get a tray on the 2010 EX35, GET IT!!!!!

If its not standard with all EX35, it should've shown as (optional), or equipted with selected model only.like how the Navi guide, or some other optional equiptments. SINCE, its not specified it is a (OPTIONAL), then it is part of the standard package.It is only optional, if its specified!!!! It needs to show in the documents.does it show in ur purchase contract its optional? does it show on the Window sticker its optional? the only document that shows the Tray is the user's manual, and it did not mark as optional. that should be enough supporting document for you.

I don't think they would mind giving me a tray, they say they could not find any on the lot. That's what I meant by the update, did you pick yours up? Was it from parts or another car. Today I asked the sales mngr to check the parts dept, and I'm waiting for a response.

ok...here is my final update.I went in to the dealerhip today, asked for the GM.he came to the front desk to meet me.I told him i was there to pick up the tray. right away he brought me a tray from his manager's desk. great service, friendly and easy.not sure where he got it from, service Dept or another car with the tray?no idea.but as long as I got one, and for free! so that's all good.haha....saved $25 right there.
