Hey everybody, I have a 2007 infiniti m35x and my console acting up. Like when I start the car it works fine then a couple of minutes everything shuts off the climate controls, radio, nav, and bluetooth. The only thing is working is the lights and the blower still blows but can't control it also the screen turns black and flickers. I check the fuses and they are okay. I also talk to my friend and he told me to get my hard drive need to be replace with another one and navigation antenna. I just want to get a second opinion before I do that. thank you an advance

When it is something this large of an electrical problem and the fuses check out ok already, I would just take it to the dealer to find out what the problem is.

Thanks dude for your advice. I had went down to the dealer but he told me that I need a new screen which will cost me a arm and a leg but my screen isn't damage. Idk I think he just want the money. Like my screen work it just it turn black every couple of minutes then the whole system turn off. Every time I get in the car the system works then in a couple of minutes later it shuts off. Idk Thanks again for your advice.

If it worked every time for a few minutes before problems start happening and things shut off then it *could* be some sort of electronic chip overheating and shutting down. Which if that is the case it would be very bad and expensive still too...

One thing to keep in mind my friend, just because the screen isn't visibly broken doesn't mean that I can't be causing the issue. All the controls and screen are wired up and work together, if there is some sort of issue (that may not be visible) with the screen, it could be causing issues with the functionality of the other components. I would not rule out the dealers assessment. However it maybe more cost effective to find a good quality used screen and try that. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks dude I might get the screen replace but I got to see from a infiniti dealer first because I ask a nissan dealer and he didn't seem that bright. he compare my nav to a dvd player.

Well, the navigation system does use a DVD player to read the map disc.

Do the gages go out as well? I just had an issue where I the whole dash and console did not work at all. Long story short is the fuse box had to be replaced. try tapping the fuse box, by your left foot and see if anything changes.
