i dont think its a typical idle problem that i have. when im driving its fine. when i stop, the idle is fine for about 10 seconds, then it starts to dip to 100rpm about every other second. then i drive some more, stop, and the same thing happens. its almost predictable.

is it the o2? because i change it about 1 year ago and seafoamed once in between.

I had a similar problem that you described in my S14 but my RPMs didn't drop that low. The problem I had was my driver side power window switch. It would get stuck when I open my window. Because of the stuck switch it would keep trying to roll the window down even though the window was fully rolled down. It would activate every 5 sec or so and i would hear like a relay click, and then the RPMs would drop a little and go back up.

You might have a similar problem.

my 240 is the power steering only trim. no power windows and no power door locks. i think its the O2 because when i took mine out, it had a lot of black soot on it that i could litterally shake off.

any one know of other brands of O2 sensor except bosch? because im going thru those 1 a year.

It's your IACV. the idle air control valve, it regulates the idle under load and at a standstill and with various things running such as your AC ect. The IACV valves on the 240's are crap an notorious for cloggimg and sticking. It's located under your intake manifold and is a ***** to get to. Search there is a thread that explains how to fix it.

IACV, may just need to be cleaned. also I found that will create similar problems is loose connections. CTS (coolant Temp. Sen.), MAF. I found that they were dirty and loose. So I cleaned them with carb cleaner and reinstalled. That helped me out there.
