I'm in lust.

Will a Z31 be expensive to own/maintain? I drive a Q right now, which generally robs me blind ($7000 in two years). About how much do you guys spend annually on upkeep? Is there anything I should be aware of when looking for one? Are most things DIY?

Thanks!

when I got my Z31 it was nonrunning in the middle of a field and I paid $400, over the next few years I spend maybe 3k on it, most of that was fixing all that was wrong with it and upgrading the suspension, other than that oil changes and gas were about it, great car very dependable, and I'd say that car won't need anything fixed it looks awesome

Did you bid on that car? Cause if not, you're going to have a hard time locating a Z31 convertible. They aren't exactly items that are readily available. But they aren't any more expensive to own than a regular Z31.

WARNING: If you can't do the work yourself, you will be eaten alive in shop fees.

The parts aren't all that expensive (even from the dealership), but the labor rates are murder on your wallet. Remember, the Z31 is 15 years old at a minimum. And unless you find one that has been well cared for it's entire life (lots of documented upkeep), you're going to be working on a lot of things.

Jesda has done some impressive DIY stuff on his Q. He learned as he went along and got lots of help from here on NICO, so I think he could use the same plan with a Z31.

And you're right, finding one will be the hard part.

He didn't win the one listed, I just provided him with the link and info.
