Hello all,

I'm purchasing my son his first car as a graduation gift and considering the Versa. We test drove it and were shocked how nice it was.

We're looking at a new 2011 5 door HB S 6-speed MT with power package. Truecar.com in my area says $12,000. Does this sound like a great deal?

Thanks in advance.

Craig

wow! awesome gift!, that is a smokin` price... I didnt see anything near that when we got ours... that`s well over 3K in savings compared to NJ dealers... Damn...

from what I hear, there is no wiggle room for dealing here in NJ... 15+ was the norm for a HB S 1.8 auto...

Nissan has employee pricing until January 3rd. Should drop that 12k to mid 11's or lower. When are you thinking of buying?

I'm ready to go anytime PromiseLand.......I tried to pull the trigger last night and made it all the way to the finance office when hundreds of BS fees were slipped in....I walked.

Just checked. The "employee price" is $13,097 after the $1,000 incentive. If they can do $12,000 take it. But yeah, don't fall for the "extra" fees. I guess that's why it is so cheap until you sit down.

2011 Hatchback, 6-speed, power plus pkg, trunk/floor mats, and splash guards = $14,097 (employee price: $750 discount, car price $13,347 + $750 transport fee - $1,000 incentive) --> $13,097.

Thanks for the comments guys but we decided to go with the 2011 Sentra 6-speed. For and OTD of $13,700 It was a no brainer.

Congrats on your new car! you bought the sentra from the same dealer? what was the total price of the versa? I can`t believe the dealer wouldn`t "deal" to get you in the versa? weren`t there the same fees on the sentra?

Actually, the same dealer I bought the Sentra from wanted $300 MORE for the Versa...Didnt make sense as the Sentra sticker was $1000 more.

Congrats on the new purchase!
Funny you should say that you got a new Sentra cheaper as the same happened in my family. My brother bought an 09 Sentra SE-R last September for a few thousand less than my SL sport Versa. Although I do have more features than him, his car is definitely worth more and he got a much better deal. But I love my Versa, and would never get rid of her :)
Enjoy your new car !!!!!
