I am about to start on the engine and I'm considering a RB25 or a KA-t. I would like to know what kind of potential the RB25 has compared to a KA-t. They're not far apart in displacement, does the inline 6 have a lot more potential? For those of you that have a RB25, please post your HP and track times if you have them.

RB25DET > KA-t

In the end, the inline 6 is going to be more reliable and much stronger because of it's design.. not just because of it's displacement. That basically goes for any inline 6 cylinder compared to a 4 cylinder.

both great motors. Ka24 is gonna have more down low, but rb gonna have more up top. If you could afford the rb25 that be a good motor, and I have yet to hear one complaint from some one that owns one..

I was just thinkin about what to say to this guy and I cant say one better than other, or different application. with 35 lbs of boost they both put down 1000+ hp so make no difference to me. I say you either gonna have to do a swap or a rebuild. Wich ever one of those is gonna be the simplist for you is my recomendation. And if you gonna pay to have some one do it locate a shop and get a bid on both set ups

You might also want to consider that a KA-T is gonna be smog legal and you won't get in trouble for driving a one. I am 99% sure a RB of any kind will get you downchecked for smog...CA at last but CA is a ***** all around.

only in california.

even then, the fmax OR new greddy kit may be carb legal for california emissions, i dont want to give out misinformation so contact each appropriate company to find out.

the other 49 states dont have smog nazi's like california, so its not a problem.

There is NO turbo kit that is CARB approved available for the KA.

I dont know Nevada laws. IF the turbo would make your car fail emissions...wouldnt it be illegal??? I dont know the specifics of the law. Everyone speculates but no one knows. Go to your Nevada DMV web page and look up the specific laws on emissions and whatnot. I dont want to spout off misinformation. Some smoggers may not care as long as you pass the sniffer.
