Ok im finally getting tired of messing with s*** hondas. Looking at this SER and was just wondering if it was a good deal and a reliable car. The car is owned by a cop in my town and i know hes taken very good care of it. Thinking i can get him down to 11,500 would that be a good deal? And how reliable are these cars? Any common problems? How are the trannies? My buddy has a regular 05 with a ton of miles and he doesnt have many problems but its really sluggish. Help me out guys! Thanks a lot

Besides the seller exaggerating the horsepower numbers this appears to be in great condition. The VQ35DE engine is award winning and you will not be disappointed. There are no major issues with this car that I know of.

In too late. Saw the CL ad is gone. OP did you purchase? I have 104,000 on my SE-R and had it since 2009 and 30,000 miles. In that time it has been very reliable. I have done regular maintenance. Belts at 90k as preventative, trans flush and fill, new coolant. New pads and rotors all around. And had to replace a oil sending unit (sensor). Thats not alot for as much and hard as I drive it. I have never considered it sluggish. 265HP stock 0-60 in 5.9 sec and a gov limited top speed of over 140MPH. Was your friends car a 2.5?

Oh BTW this car rusts under driver and passenger floor where the assembly line moved it by 4 pins. My rust started inside out. Keep in mind when looking at them.
