Hi I am new to this forum and I am considering purchasing FX35 or FX45 but more inclined towards the 45.

I would appreciate input from as many peole as possible regarding which is a better choice. For instance, I want the technology package, can it be had with 35 as well or only the 45?

In terms of reliability and durability what are the issues in the FX45. The Infinitis are not sold in my country and I will be importing one from the US. This means that the vehicle will NOT BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. Therefore, I just wanted to know what are the common complaints or issues and what I should expect to pay for fixing them.

I am thinking of a used 2004 FX45 or a new 2005 FX45. Are there any upgrades in the features and any existing complaints, if any, of the 2004 model address in the 2005 model by the manufacturer?

Thanks all for your input.

Welcome to NICO Our family also has a 2003 LX470.

The tech package is optional on the 35, but for the 45 its standard (for 2005 at least).

For 05 the FX has some extra safety features and an electronic lane departure warning system that tells you when youre outside of your lane. I havent tried it myself. I *believe* clear tail lights are new for 2005, but I cant be sure.

The FX35 retains most of the performance of the FX45, and the smaller wheels make the ride more comfortable. The 35 is also a bit better on fuel consumption. So, when considering ride comfort and cost of ownership, the FX35 wins, in my opinion.

Infiniti salesman here.

If you're going to be rolling without warranty, an non tech FX35 would probably be your best option. Less can go wrong and you'd have a more prove engine - not that the 45 is a bad engine.

Thanks for your replies.

1. I was actually looking for some additional info as well i.e. since the 35 and 45 have been released, what have been some of the common complaints for each one that have been taken care of under the warranty.

I just need to make myself a provision for these expenses.

2. Actually the technology package is one of the reasons I was keen to have a FX. Also, gniknave, can you help provide some export pricing on a FX35 fully loaded with and without technology package. Looking for a color exterior (beige gold, brown) and beige leather interior. I would not mind a 2004, if it is fully loaded. Does it come with wood package?

Thanks

It comes with aluminum interior trim, but if you want wood, thats still possible. Jason Burtman offers an excellent wood trim package for the FX.
