Well it's a hard decision on which year Z to get, I've driven the 03-05 Z's. And to be honest they felt a bit under powered. I like the cockpit feel, and the clutch will take some time to get used to. Since they've all felt stiffer then most manual car's I've driven, for stock. I adore the sound of the VQ, I know for fact it'll sound better with upgrades. I also like the short shifter, and the throw of it too.

As for the 2006 I know it came with 300hp rev-up, along with other neat upgraded features. How much of a difference does the power feel, compared to the 03-05's minus the 05 35th anni, and grand touring? Does it pull harder, and is the power more noticeable? Also if I considered getting an 06, could there be a chance that it might have an oil consumption problem? Or would going to the dealership and having them do a test for it, only determine if the Z has it?

Also are the Z's modification friendly?, since I plan to stay n/a power. And it'll be my daily driver. Thanks!, I hope to become a Z owner and be part of the community

Getting a Z past ... say 350-370hp, even up to those numbers even, can be quite expensive. Anything past that is even deeper in the pockets. Ill be honest. Possible non the less, but its not like you can just throw on small upgrades and expect an advantage because it is already a performance motor stock.

i wouldnt buy a Z if FINANCIALLY you were making a stretch, because keep in mind the insurance on it. Its one of the most killingest cars in America, its small, fast, RWD, 2 seats. Insurance has a field day on them. Your insurance will most likely cost more than your monthly payment if you are financing. Insurance is actually cheaper on a G35.

The car does sound great, i was purchasing a Nismo 350z, however due to non financial matters i was unable to buy the car. Sounds like a ferrari though with the nismo exhaust.

On the insurance note, it depends on who you go through. I have USAA and my Z is fully covered... I paid a little over $300 (about $55 a month) for 6 months coverage... definitely less than my car payment, haha.

I have an 03 and I've driven an 06. There isn't that much of a difference. The Z's are pretty good with n/a bolt ons.You could throw on an true dual exhaust, CAI, intake mainfold and spacer, cams, ecu reflash, test pipes, headers, and if you wanted go all out a built block and heads.

Heh. Thats a pleasure Im sure it is! My Insurrance is $2300 for 6 months!!! Ahh, well im 24 now and Made some dumb mistakes at the age of 21 and so on. Just put it this way, I quit drinking so I dont drink and drive anymore which makes it a lot harder for me to get in 4 accidents like I did when I was drinking. Crazy right? Im blessed to be here today and Im glad I learned this problem now and not later. I just own a 2005 Z and love it to death. But YES, it is sad that the insurrance payment a month is almost as much as the car payment

PS: 14 Insurrance points come off next month though

Ouch, yeah I'm 23 with one accident on the record (a lady in a Montero Sport decided that plowing through my car was something she wanted to do that night)

Have u tried the 07-08's yet? The air intake plentum mod they did is fanominal. Gives it alittle bit better sound but be warned, there isnt much for upgrades to the engine yet because of that (minus the normal susp, CAI, etc.). But it is puttin out around 300hp. A blast to drive. Also the 07's have a recall on em' for the clutch. Mine's hittin the shop in 2 days for that. Im payin $140/mth for insurance but im also over 25 w/ 1 speeding ticket. Good luck w/ the hunt and post some pics if/when u get the beauty that is THE Z.

I have wanted a Z since 2003 when I first saw one. I was finally able to get one 3 weeks ago and I absolutely love my car! My insurance isn't bad either....$146/month and I'm 24.

I own an 04 and love it. If you can find a low mileage, babied, 04 and up, I would say go for it.As for insurance, I pay 1,000/year and I am 38 w/ no tickets or accidents. KNOCK WOOD!

Just keep looking and you can find one for a good price. I got a 2006 Enthusiast with 13k miles for $21,500. I believe thats well under market value.

Psshh..

You guys should feel lucky... The cost of the Z in the states is 10-15k LOWER then the ones in Canada. (Even though the dollar is the same now)

I think the top of the line Z here ( Not the roadster) is around 44k.Ontop of that, our insurance is ridculously high. Im 24 and paying 6000 a YEAR for a 2 door Altima Coupe. (same engine but no rev up, AND not considered a sports car)

I can only imagine me in a Z in canada, probably be 8000 a year. Insurance is f****ing retarded.. That was the only thing stopping me from the Z and the altima.
