Thanks for the add! My mom (73) is in the market for a new (used) car and the Rogue is on the list. Depending on price, we are looking at a 2017-2020 model. Aside from the typical things to watch out for when buying a used car, is there anything specific to the Rogue we should be looking out for? Thanks!

Run the car to operating temp and listen for any whirring or whining from
the transmission. I got a 2016, and it started whirring at about 95,000
miles. IT doesn't do it cold, but does hot. The CVT8 is a better trans.

If you're not all that concerned with good MPG, get a Murano, they have
the better CVT8 with the chain instead of the push-belt, and a deeper trans
oil sump.

I think the vehicle history report is your best friend when buying a Rogue. What mileage are you looking at? If there is no history of a transmission fluid service and it has more than 125,000 miles on it, I’d look for a different one.

The transmissions are the only deterrent from these cars. My first Rogue went 155,000 miles on the original transmission until a meth head rammed it in a parking lot. Transmission fluid service is what got it there.

Thanks for the insight!
