That's exactly the playbook they used on me but didn't budge far enough. They got to within like $60/month but no thanks. I want it at $490/mo or less. Maybe after that guy sits on the car for another month or two he'll call me back :rotflmao

Ilya,

You looking at buying another M?
Was trying to get one with 24kmi on it...identical car just blue slate instead of white (same year, interior, packages, etc.). Mine has 88kmi on it and warranty just expired and wanted to trade it for that younger one...like upgrading the girlfriend lol.

OP, see? I love this car so much I'd buy another ;) (would have been my third M). As you can tell buy these posts, we all love our cars.

I live in Florida. I didn't want to go over like $17K but there's taxes title and all that too. I told him I would want to fix the stuff I mentioned and the cost for that is pretty high for headlights steering wheel etc. He said $16K was the best he could do after I offered $15K. He told me I'm the only serious person that's actually looked at it so I feel after the holidays he might get back to me. I work at a bank and one of my customers goes to auto auctions but he hasn't seen a 56. He's seen a few 37's though so I'm not sure I might settle for that. He only adds $500 to auction sale price so it's a pretty damn good deal if he can find one. He only goes after the nice ones too. Just not many 56's around!

Shoot, was gonna say, if your budget was a bit higher...~$20,500 for mine and I'll drive it down to FL and fly back (without the wheels though lol). Dang near mint interior, about to be dang near mint exterior (having various nicks/scratches repaired after the new year) and FULL (down to the wipers and inspections) maintenance history (DIY and Infiniti only) too add. It's just about to hit 89k. You won't an M56x in better condition than mine at this mileage and know it's history.

You're probably right on that he'll want to talk deal again after sitting on it a few more weeks. I'm kind of hoping the dealer I was trying to buy a newer 2011 M56x from does the same after sitting on that car some more...think I saw it on the lot today still waiting for me to take her home lol.

http://www.offleaseonly.com/ check this place out they're in Florida I almost flew down there. Check the car well and have it looked at at an Infiniti dealer. The reviews on this place are kind of mixed that's why I'm saying make sure to have it checked.

Not sure if they are going to have super high mileage cars though.

IMO if you can only afford 17k and are worried about taxes and fees you can't actually afford this car. I stretched myself thin to buy my STi when I was 20. I could afford it but not comfortably. Then I blew the motor and the car sat for 5 years so just be careful think through your purchase.

Oh yeah forgot to add if you have a Carmax near you they will ship a car to your location from anywhere for like 500

Yep that's how I bought mine. There were simply no M56's around the Winston-Salem area. Went to Carmax online and found one in Tennessee. Shipping cost is based on distance, and it may take up to 10 days to get it, because they usually try and pick up multiple cars instead of making a special trip for one car. My cost was only $249 since it was pretty close. If you want to see the car you have to pay the shipping up front, and it is non refundable if you decide to not buy it. Their price is also non negotiable. I knew what I wanted so I took a chance and had the car shipped so I could look at it. Only thing I didn't like was a few minor scratches and blemishes in the paint, and it had a cheap set of tires - Goodyear knockoff's, typical of a lease turn in where a lessee has to replace the tires to avoid paying a penalty. The interior was immaculate and mechanically it was perfect. I went ahead and bought it. Just go to their website and enter what you are looking for and your zip code and it will tell you what's available. It may not be rock bottom price but I found what I wanted. Also check cargurus.com they will also show you a good selection but you have to travel to look at it.

Not that I can't afford more but at what I'm shooting for I can handle the unexpected. It's about the best price I've seen nationwide but I just have a feeling it will work in the long run. We shall see!

I am not sure if this will help you at all, but I am going to be selling mine shortly. I need to get it ready (shop check and detailed) first, and I am in Colorado, but I take good care of my cars and it's a 2011 M56S (RWD). I'll post it in the proper spot once ready (by end of month at the latest).

Meantime good luck with your search. I've been looking around for pricing comparisons, and these things are hard to find. KBB doesn't even list the S...
