As the title says I have a Skyline R32 GTS-T (rwd) pushing around 250bhp right now. I like the car, it's pretty quick, snappy in turns because of the modded suspension and 17" wheels, and it looks pretty decent as well. It's also a right hand drive. Overall it's a fantastic car with fantastic handling, good acceleration, good mileage if I stay off the boost, and enough mods to keep things interesting. Acceleration wise it's around 5.5 - 6.0 seconds to 60mph from a standstill.

But I am considering getting a 300ZX Twin Turbo from Japan and selling my R32.

Can anyone here tell me what are some of the major differences between the two cars as far as handling, speed, etc. My impression is that the 300ZX is a very heavy car but I read conflicting views on how it handles. How will it compare to a well handling, medium weight GT car like the Skyline GTS-T?

I understand the 300ZX has some kind of adjustable suspension? And automatic models feature adjustable shifting control? I'm not too sure I want an automatic but most of the cheap 300ZX Twin Turbos in Japan are automatic, and they're usually less than 50,000miles so it's a little bit lucrative. . .

The models I'm looking at are all 1992 / 1991 due to the 15 year import rule in place in Canada. Anything to look out for on these years for JDM cars, not USDM?

Thats a toss up. Both are great sports cars. I think the R32 is heavier (just a guess). I wonder if any magazine has done a comparo of the 2. I'm pretty sure the Z32 TT is faster than an RB20 powered R32.

Why import a Z32 when they were available in Canada?? You like RHD that much?

6000$ cheaper than buying locally and they're in 100 times better shape.

well unless you get a 2+2 the Z is a 2 seater! as for weight, the skylines are kinda porky as well, most modern cars are heavy, the skyline is a novelty, the Z is just a Z it's mroe a matter what moves you?

As far as I know the Skyline GTS-T is far lighter than the 300ZX.

How does the 300ZX fare in corners? It looks like a very wide car, and the weight seems to keep it planted rather than skidding everywhere in videos I see of the car. Does it understeer horribly or??

And yes 300ZX TT's from Japan are far cheaper than buying them here and they're usually in much better shape. Japan does not use salt on its roads and only has a rainy season that lasts 1 month. The exception is cars from Hokkaidou.

well ignore this if you dont have the budget but i heard that the best z is a 1990's N/A 300zx then you swap the vg30de for a vg30dett since the n/a is lighter than the turbo and dosent have super hicas its faster than a normal tt btw i drive a N/A and plan to do this as for youre question you cant go wrong with the Z.
