I am considering a 2002 Infiniti I35 with only 66K miles on it. Is there anything in particular that I should look out for? It seems like a great car in awesome shape I have just never owned a Infiniti before?

You're probably not going to find much wrong at this point. You can expect normal maintenance soon which will include replacing shocks and sway bar bushings. Ask for maintenance records and a Carfax report. Hopefully you'll get an Infiniti service history and not a bunch of receipts from Jiffy Lube.

If you're buying from a private party are the passenger and engine compartments clean and free of garbage? Is yesterday's fast food trash stuffed behind the front seat? Has the owner taken the time to do some detailing to make it presentable? An owner who keeps a clean car and can show you an organized set of reciepts and reports probably has taken good care of it.

Seems like a nice car if it idles smooth, accelerates strong and shifts smoothly. Good luck.

An I35 is a spectacular car for the money. They're WAY underrated, reliable, attractive and a solid all-around driver.

Call the local Infiniti dealer and ask the svc department to pull the service history. They'll usually do it for free, in order to gain you as a future customer.

I agree with the above. The motor is rock solid and all bugs have been worked out. The only issue you may have is with the Bose system acting up so make sure all speakers are working and it changes CD's without an issue.

Good luck :)

I have a 2002 I35 with 89k on it and the only problem I had was driver's seat motor, blower fan that I changed myself and the Bose system. I took the dash apart and cleaned up all the contacts on the connectors on the bose harness and now works great and bass speaker still kicks out some bass. I just bought a set of used 19x8.5 rims from another forum member for $150 and putting on the wheels next week when I get my tires.
