Hey thugs what's up? I'm a newbie both to the forum and the 1990 200sx(Jap). I love the car and the power it has and can make, but i'm also going to need some guidance in that aspect and i hope you all can give some input. I'm in Jamaica by the way, so i'm going to ask that you bear that in mind as well - the temperature is a lot different from yours.

First questoin. I've replaced the conrod bearings about three weeks ago, and i'll like to know how much mileage i should give the engine to fully break in the parts - if you could assist with kilometers that would be nice.

Secondly, there are times when i'm driving, not too hard, and the engine backs off a little, then picks up again. When this happens, it only lasts for around 2 - 3 secs, then returns to normalcy, and it doesnt happen that often. I was made aware by mechanic that one of the injectors(stock 370cc) has been leaking, so i was wondering if that was the source of the problem?

Also, i have an AiResearch T04 turbo, that my friend says is needed to spooled by an 8000cc engine. I know that its huge, they all say that, but i was also told that i could change the turbine(backhousing) to a smaller one, so i'd like to know which one would be best to substitue it with?

The hesitation could be from an injector problem, 02 sensor problem, maf problem. Your injector may just need a new o ring, I would take them out and inspect them.

That "t04 turbo" can range in size. You need to find out more about it. How big is it compared to the stock turbo? If the turbine is the size of a frisby, then it would probably take 8 liters to spool it. t04 is part of the compressor housing name. There's a t04b which is a little bigger than the stock turbo, and is the housing for s14, s15 t28 turbos. There's a t04e, which is the housing on the popular 50 trim. There's a t04s, which is the compressor housing on a gt25r. Then there's the turbine side. If the turbine inlet is divided in 2 parts, it's too big for most CA applications. Then there's the a/r ratio. It says it on each side of the turbo. The bigger the number, the slower the spool basically.

Your engine hesitation is either AFM issues or you're leaning out your engine.

Thanks alot for the input. I have been able to check out the hesitation problem as yet due to work and exams, but i've made note of your suggestions.

Also in regards to the turbo, i'm not too sure about the trimming measurement, but i'm definitely going to get some measurements and more details and get back to you.

Thanks again once more
