Connection and Connection Plus and LoJack

I was going to title this a SCAM ALERT but I will leave it to the forum to judge. Bought my second ( 2013) M the end of December 2012 and had a free 4 year Personal Assistant and a one year free subscription to Infiniti Connection and Connection Plus. There are a couple of features I used but the one which I used instead of Lojack was the Valet warning if I have it correct. When enabled I would get a notice that the car was driven 1/2 mile from where I left it. Great stuff and fortunately never needed. There are several other features with Connection and Connection plus but not something I used. Bottom line over $300 a year to continue with both these and you have to have both to benefit from the vehicle recovery feature. Also unless you subscribe you will have to use the personal assistant using your own phone not the one built into the car.


IMO opinion it is a cheap trick i.e. "scam". Yea they try and hook you with the free year but the fee is not worth it…and like the local drug dealer said "the first one is always free".

So to my second topic LOJACK. Anything out there for the DIY'er for cell phone notification for when a car is stolen? Any other alternative to LOJACK that will get you the insurance discount?
