Hey I ordered eagle H beam rods and JE pistons for my S13 Sr20det redtop engine and then ordered ACL race bearings. The company I am ordering the bearings from are asking what size rod bearings do I need, the 17mm or the 19mm. Does anyone have any idea which one I really need as I haven't stripped the engine down yet?Daniel

Here's a tip. Tear your motor down and have a shop measure up your journals. Working with aftermarket rods, you can't do the usual chart comparison outlined in the FSM for bearing size ups.

i have heard that the 17mm is stock and that the 19mm will fit and is better for contact surface area, but i haven't done it myself so don't quote me on it.

Well I did the easy thing and called up Eagle performance and asked them what size bearings do their S13 SR20DET rods use... They said the 17mm ones. They had NO clue that 2 difference sizes existed.

Hope they are correct and I do all my own buildups and work and I got a drag event on the 17th of this month so ordering bearings and rods together and car is in another island where event is being held so cant exactly measure myself.
