Saw this, this morning and was pissed off excused my French. Congress is saying that they will be doing a 1% cut for retired veterans with disabilities under age of 62. The average retired enlisted will lose a little over 80,000 a year, while the average officer will lose roughly 120,000 a year. These are the benefits that was promised to us for serving our country and putting our lives on the lines each and everyday while we were in. A lot of people have never experienced being deployed to war, dealing with family issues at the same time. Congress has no idea what the past and present men and woman have gone through to make great sacrifices for this Great Nation. I will be one of many AMERICAN VETRANS taking actions, voicing my concerns on this issue. They have many military organizations taking stands on this now, I will keep you all posted on this. I have enclosed the web address for you all to look at, many people don't realize being in the military, you are not rich, depending on your rank, you might make it to middle class,

That's $80,000 & $120,000 respectively over a period of 22 years (ages 40 - 62), not per year.

Carry on.

It really is a shame Congress has cut veteran benefits...again. Unfortunately, the only way to get Congress to reverse their course is to vote enough of the current bums outta office and replace them with ones that understand.

It affects anybody who signs up after the bill is enacted. I'm grandfathered in.
