Hey all...I copied and pasted the below from a Jag board I follow...thought you all might enjoy as the new Jag owner talks about the good service with Infiniti compared to Jag.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Hi folks. New member and fist time poster here. My wife and I just became Jaguar owners in January with a new red X350 for her and a gorgeous white X308 Soverign for me. We have been enjoying both cars tremendously, moving up from Infiniti Q45s.
The 350 is going in for service on Tuesday. There is a very strange sound coming from the right rear when the car accellerates from coasting. I know this may sound silly but the noise is almost like the sound a seal makes... "arfff"... Could it be the transmission (or maybe differential?) is slipping?
We live in Los Angeles and brought it to Hornburg several weeks ago when the problem first surfaced. The car also has a nasty hesitation problem, according to my wife. Hornburg was clueless, unprofessional and a bunch of clowns. A total embarassment. Very surprising since we had been treated so well by the Infiniti service personnel since the early 90s and thought Jaguar would pull out all the stops for its customers. We will try Galpin next.
This begs the question, are there ANY competent and courteous Jag mechanics in Los Angeles? I want to enjoy these beautiful cars for many years to come and need to develop the right relationship with a reputable/honest shop. Cheers! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I was reading about the XJ8 in Automobile Magazine. They had nothing positive to say about the dealer, who put a tire in the back seat and screwed up the connoly leather, requiring it to be redyed. When they complained about the dirty front seat, they literally SPIT SHINED it right in front of the customer. This Jag dealer was supposedly one that served executive fleets. They also couldnt fix a brake warning light.
the jag board I follow.....roadfly....continue to have so many complaints about crappy dealer service that many say they could live with the cars problems, but not the dealer attitude.
btw...they had a guy post this morning that he had replaced his rear diff, both front calipers, and drivers side power window motor all before the car hit 60K. Not all the cars are like this, but I can't imagine owning a car and having the basic stuff break way before industry standards such as the calipers freezing and the front wheel bearings needing to be pulled and repacked due to design flaws all before 60K.
We've been so spoiled by our Q that I'm afraid to replace it. An equivalant car would cost at least $60K and if I had a Jag type experience, I'd probably go postal.
THIS is a move up?
Poor bastard has NO clue of the cruel irony of this statement.
Our Lexus expert [a Brit] is a certified Jag tech in a previous life, we take occasional jobs which are unsolvable by dealers..........everyone should study these pieces of _____t. Pretty junk is still junk.Ford didn't help much as you see by the layoffs and closures of the Historic Coventry plant.Wish Toyota would buy Ford and put them out of their misery........but the pension obligations make this impossible.
Two of the 5 local Lexus dealers have built two brand new platial mega-edifices patterned after Sadams Palaces............they are now charging $110 per hour in Atlanta. They have presold ALL of next years allotment of Hybrid RX400.
A Toyota Mustang would look something like this:
Few automakers put appliances on the road that are as soulless and bland as Toyota.
