not sure how many here were aware of the team Hybrid Z Pinks drag car but the race was a few months back and the eppisode just aired, they lost their car but did a great job of showing what a real import can do, last minute changes and a lack of tuning hurt their performance but they built the car and made the effort and for that they are winners

Just saw it today too when my cousin called me and told me to put it on Speed. Then I noticed it was from Hybrid Z. Sucks that they lost their car cause it was badass.

But seeing so many Z's around makes me want to get mine here and running. Stupid shipping so slow!

Just so you know HybridZ bought the car back for 3100 bucks. I'm a member on there and i've heard that from many people now.

The guy driving the monte knew his car was faster and he whined and bitched everytime he had to give the datsun a car length. I think it would of been close if the datsun got two cars and the monte was off the bottle. In defence of the datsun that was suposed to run a best time of 12.5......the driver sucked. I didnt see one decent launch during the whole show. Even on stock suspension. With a decent launch i would of been in the 11s. That driver sucked.

Rant Over

That guy driving the monte was an *** hole.

We caught the end of the episode last night, regardless of how horrible the show is, or how bad the driving may have been, it was cool to see a Datsun on there

the car they were scheduled to race hit a wall the monte was a substitute and supposedly ran a 10.02, the hybrid z shoulda been a mid 11 second car so they were mismatched, and garret did a good job handling the car as the last minute injector upgrade and lack of corrective tuning made it less then ideal

a few of the cooler things about the car, they used a dodge cummins diesel turbo (not too many L28ET's running those but a few) megasquirt (there are a lot fo us running megasquirt) and it's as far as I knwo the first L28ET to run a Z32 5 speed

win or loose they had the balls to build a car and tow it down and risk it all, for that they get my respect, and garret singing "walk away" at the end should have been bonus points

It actually wasnt tuning or last minute changes, the timing belt jumped a tooth and hurt them dearly. Their tuning was flawless. They found it was a jumped tooth when they got the car back.

the L28ET has no timing belt, soit can't jump a tooth, the megasquirt was tuned with 450 cc injectors but they were running lean at less than the amount of boost they wanted to run, they then added a set of 800 cc injectors and changed only the VE tables and not the reg fuel

LOL sorry I misread the guys response, the owners of the vehicle said the cam jumped a tooth. I highly doubt Jerry would make a mistake as to not change reg fuel, after all he was their and probably one of the best guys to help you with megasquirt.
