Okay, I haven't decided which exhaust manifold I wanna go with, I'm looking to spend $200-300 on it if I can manage to find a good deal. Another thing, I'd prefer to use a t3 flange, but as always t25 and 28 will always be there too, and seem more prominant on the market. Maybe you guys can help me out with these decisions too.

Anyways... I've just thought of something. Say you are using a stock turbo off of something else, and it mounts on the bottom of the manifold. Many of the manifolds for the KA are top mount. The oil lines need to be lined up correctly and vertical, so how can you move these around? You obviously don't want the inlet on the bottom and the outlet for oil on the top. Also, you don't want the outlet for the compressor to be pointing up. How do I get around these things?

when it comes to flanges your always better off using a t3 flange since most turbos available on the market will come with a t3 flange option.

as far as the oil lines go you can loosen the bolts on the compressor and turbine housing of the turbo (or the hot and cold side whatever you wanna call it) and then you can spin the housing so the center section lines up right, you can do a full 360 clock of the turbo which uses a external waste gate but if the turbo utilizes a internal wastegate then you are limited to how much you can adjust the sections.

Ahh... so if there is an external waste gate, you can typically rotate the turbine, housing, and compressor independantly?

that is correct

What if it comes with a wastegate, and you plan to do an external one anyways, can you pretty much tear anything off of it that keeps it from rotating and still keep the turbo functioning?

Yeah. But you just won't be able to use the internal wastegate anymore.
