It's listed as legal for sale here:http://certguns.doj.ca.gov/safeguns_resp.asp

But some people are saying it's not legal. I've read that it's illegal for a safety issue(Mag Disconnect), and/or capacity. Is there different versions of the XD? Which is the one everyone seems to swoon over?

Can you guys get my fact straightened for me? I'm a n00b on guns, so bowdown to your guys info.

it regards the magazine capacity.

CA limits them to 10 rounds.

my XD's case says "ILLEGAL IN CALIFORNIA" on it.

I'm not sure if the magazine disconnect is part of it too...

as far as I know, the only difference is that the XD's there are sold with only 10 round mags.

HOWEVER, if you get a standard XD9, you can use Beretta 92 mags that are 15 rounds legal to buy there that'll work.

<---my XD is a .45 ACP

I find it funny, i can get an xd in ma but not through a dealer. I have to get one from someone who lived out of state and then brought i with them when they moved here. Ghey.

it's dumbass MA laws...they have the most annoying pistol laws of any state.

I think the XD isn't for sale there because it doesn't have an Internal lock.

to me, it seems most of MA's pistol laws were written by someone in Smith and Wesson's pocket.

^ that someone would be the AG. Ma laws are scary. There is a little hope though, a reform law just got passed in the State house that if it does get passed by the senate/Governor would abolish the EOPS approved weapons roster leaving just the AG stupid f***ing "consumer safety" laws. For example newer glocks are on the EOPS list but since they don't pass the AG consumer saftey bs then it is illegal for an FFL to sell them in MA so I wouldn't even be able to order it because he can't do a Transfer with it. Like the xd the only way to get guns that are "banned" are to get them from an out of stater who had them in his possession when he moved into the state. Then i would have to pay double what the gun is worth.

^ I probably will be. Oh yea and they are a shall issue state BTW"New Hampshire is a "shall issue" state. A carry and conceal weapon (CCW) permit will be issued to anyone who qualifies. You do not even need a permit to carry a concealed weapon in New Hampshire as long as you are not carrying ammunition. The following steps will show how to obtain a CCW permit in New Hampshire."

as long as you're not carrying ammo...that kinda defeats the purpose.

I need to take a damn course and get my TN permit...I keep putting it off.

hear the MSRP on it or the 516 yet?

the 516 is suppose to be 1300 MSRP.

that's a steal when you look at the prices of a comparable piston AR

You can own an XD here but there are no hi-cap mags. My boss owns a California legal AR and spent about $1500 to do so.

yeah...cali legal AR's are kinda pointless...I'd rather drop the money into a nice bolt rifle I think.

I've shot a few and so long as you have the "nonremovable magazine," it's not bad. No hi-cap mags is kinda bootysauce though..
