i think i have a vacuum leak but im getting really confused...first off..i have a t3/t4...running 370cc's and a SAFCII with a plx wideband

all my charge pipes are hooked up fine...i saw these hoses under the throttle bottle that lead to no where so i took those off and put vacuum caps there...then i closed off the EGR tube...i get about 12in hg vacuum? is that correct?? shouildnt it be at 20?? when its warm it goes to about 10inhg....

the weird thing is...when i give a little throttle...the autometer boostgauge would actually go down to 20inhg instead of upwards to 0inhg...however when i give it a lot more throttle it will rise instead of going down....

on the SAFCII monitor mode i get .1-2% airflow which is wayyy to low for idle...it should be about .7% correct?

one VERY intersting thing is that when i step on the brakes repetitivley my idle would actually rise...then the idle is about to die...i keep pressin the brake and it would rise?? odd??

also i hear a HISSING sound around my turbo...could that be a vacuum leak?? or is it just the turbo..when i squeeze the FPR vacuum line the hissing noise disappears..when i let go it comes back...also when i squeeze the fpr vacuum my boost gauge goes to 0inhg...iono if that tells u anything i just wanted to add that fact...

help me out!!

I had a leak in my brake booster line, which caused a low vac reading for me.

intersting...how would a leak in the brake booster line cause low vacuum reading? could this also explain my weid issue of pressin the brakes raises my idle?

thanks virus, that was the link i wanted to show just couldnt remember who and where i saw it

steven - the brake booster runs off a vaccuum. all the vaccuum sources come from the intake manifold. they will come from different places on the intake manifold but its all from the same source

is pressin brake pumping vacuum or something? is that why my idle rises while pumping my brakes? its pretty funny when my idle is about to die im pressing my brakes instead of my gas..lol

geez anthony go take a nap you never sleep
