confused rattling

okay so today I heard my car finally put together and when it Idled its was fine. but when I gave it some gas it sounded good till the rpms start dropping. then it sounded like something was rattling. it sounded like the timing chain...the thing that confuses me is that its a brand new rebuilt motor with all new timing components. The guy doing my tune said that it might not have enough pressure built up to move the tensioner. but oil pressure gage says its fine. the motor has only ran about a total of 15 minutes. this is a ka24et....true pig build.please help

Random Thoughtssomething on hte rebuild came loose.Is the oil pressure reading with a mechanical gauge or a light?Teh tensoner should have gotten pressure after a minute or two not 15.

Did the person who put in the tensoner pull the little pin that keeps the spring in place after it was installed?

If you have verified oil pressure then you probably need to pull the valve cover and see if you can check the tensoner, otherwise pull the timing cover.

I was the one who built the motor and yeah I pulled the pin too. I put my finger in the oil fill the see if the chain could move and it felt like it had tension....the oil gauge is aftermarket
