Confused..Dont know what happened. would love help!

the other day i was driving and my engine like went off it was weird. it is easier to understand if i told you the whole story. But first it is a 92 nissan 240sx se ka24de with CAI, upgraded ecu, upgraded plugs and wires, header, test pipe and muffler. it has 189,000 miles on it also.

Okay i was on the highway and i went onto the interstate i was driving int he fast lane and i was going i believe 90 in fourth gear i believe it was. (not redlining) and all of a sudden my engine like stopped. the throttle was not working at all. and i thought i staled so i tryed to crank it and the starter made the loud noise that says it is already running.lol so it was rolling, so i put it in neutral and roll off onto a exit and went to side of the road on the exit. i shut the car off. then went to crank it.. nothing. looked at my capacitor ( that goes to my speakers.) it said 14.5 volts. so my battery was not dead. i popped the hood and looked at my oil cause it does leak a little. and it was fine and was a clearish color cause i just changed the oil. i went back inside my car and tried to crank it again. this time it turned over and was not idle. the rpms was moving like crazy from 0 to 15000 rpms. then i decided to hit the gas and then there was a loud pop and white smoke flew out of my exhaust and the engine shut off. i then looked back under the hood checked all the fluids, vacuum lines, and all. they all were fine. so i went back an tried one more time to crank it. this time it cranked right up. i then moved it to a parking lot with a street light. i kept it running, and it was idleing fine at 10000 rpm. i revved it up a couple of times. then i drove around the parking lot, and also drifted around the lot and burned out.(in other words i was redlining it!!) and it was fine. so i went back on the interstate and i would not go over the actual speed limit.

I am wondering wat prolly happened and if it is bad. and if it is actually safe to drive around?? Please help me. I would appreciate it!!

check the codes and see if it threw one for the CAS. peace.

That is the weirdest story I have ever read on here.

I was driving my car, the engine shut off, except it wasnt off, then it wouldnt start, then it did start, then the throttle stopped working, then was working again, then it shot smoke and I did a burnout....wtf?

You have a high-mileage KA, check everything. Fuel filter, throttle cable, injectors, fuses, wiring, spark plugs, distributor, throttle position sensor, engine compression......

hmm? as far as i know your speed limiter kicks in at like 6600 rpms in forth gear, but im not sure, i know its about 4500 in 5th gear. sound like what happens when u hit the limiter. when i maxed my 240 out at 114, the throttle cuts out for like ten seconds and doesnt allow you to accelerate...hope this helps

Thats a very wierd story. Check your MAF connection, 02 sensor and your Water temp gauge.
