I'm going to buy a K&N filter, since there's a sale today from Advance Auto Parts (code: AAP15OFF).

I'm looking through the owners manual, and I can't find info about them, seriously embarrassed to ask, but are there one or two? There's no vacuum section, and there's no body electrical section. Wtf?

Also, where the HECK is the breather filter on this beast? And I seriously cannot even imagine how it could work, it's rectangular.

its under the nose panel between the headlights if you pop your hood there is 4 bolts to pull off the nose panel. Take the 4 out slide it toward the engine and pull it off, it has 2 small paper filters. I would just recomend a single cone filter w/ velocity stack, like this one http://specialtyz.com/shop/default/300z ... e-pop.html much easier to work with and way better flow

And I have no clue where that filter is? That looks like some sort of cabin filter to filter the ac air, but I've never heard of it on our cars

The stock filter number for a service pro filter is MA4675, you might be able to cross reference that somehow, Idk tho I kinda misread your post.

Thanks, that actually did help. Nissan apparently calls then "Air cleaner filters".

Use this code instead

Huge50

Gives your $50 off $175 or more order. There are 25-30% off all the time, ill see if I can find some for you. Owners manual will tell you nothing, use the FSM. Slizz is correct, right in between the headlights under the nose panel.

Wow that's awesome @nissanfreak12.

Do you know about the crankcase breather filter? I didn't even know it had one, same deal with the owners manual

I dowt our cars have one. the crankcase vents back into the intake to burn the gases. Some hokus pocus s*** haha. I just looked on alldata for a crankcase filter, I did not find one. I wouldn't worry about it honestly

There is no crankcase filter, unless you are referring to the PCV valves on either side of the upper plenum?

It is called a PCV (positive crank ventilation). 2 located on either side of the upper plenum.

Nah I guess for some reason the site thinks there's a filter on the PCV or something. Weird. I couldn't even imagine how it would work.

I replaced them with the stock-style panel filters, and it runs amazing. My dad said he always had the "air filter" changed every 10k miles or so, but when I took the TWO filters out, they were the dirtiest mangiest pieces of crap I'd ever seen with straight up MUD all over.

There's a noticeably less amount of gas going into the cabin, I think the fuel is now able to combust better because of so much more oxygen.

I wonder if those things had EVER been changed. Now it runs like a new car, onto a new issue... post incoming.

just put a cold air intake in my NA and when I went to take the filters out, the passenger side was clogged with what looked like mattress padding and there was a skeleton of a mouse in there. I swear the person who owned this car before me didn't do any maintenance. I think the stock fuel filter is still on here. It says made in JAPAN on it. Is that normal. I just got a new filter from Autozone and it is not made in Japan. Either way, talk about a pain in the butt changing them out. Took me about 2 hours to install a damn intake. Longest it has ever taken me to install one on any car. Didn't help it was 20 degrees and snowing.

It sounds like it sat for a long time. You can still get OEM filters that have the '"japan" written on the side.

Mine was made in Japan too, with Japanese writing on it. I was dumbfounded, because I know for a fact the place he took the car to be maintained does not use these filters!

replaced mine yesterday and it was so clogged. Don't even know how the car was running before. Runs like a champ now. Knock on wood. :)
