Confused about LEDs

So I was looking to swap out my map lights and courtesy lights for blue LEDs. I started looking around a bit and found a nice DIY guide that had some LED suggestions...thing is, I was wondering why these: http://www.v-leds.com/Exterior....html are so pricey?

Is there are equivalent on superbrightleds? I was looking at the WLED-xHP5 Wedge Base Bulbs, but I have no idea if they would work... can someone give me a crash course on this stuff or which bulb would also fit?

Use these instead; they're pretty bright.

The surface mounts probably have a much wider light spread than do the standard LEDs. Most LEDs only shoot light out of a narrow angle. Great for flash lights, not so great for dome lights.

wait...you sure you don't mean the other way around? The first set as courtesy lights and the second set as map lights? oO I'm just looking at the shape, but I really know nothing and would just like to be sure before I order lol

I got [almost] all of my LEDs from superbright LEDs cause they were cheaper than v-leds. A year later...so far so good.

oo, which ones did you get? Was it the ones I posted earlier?

I've got WLED-xHP6 in the trunk, used 3022-x9 LED for the dome light, and I think WLED-x6 LED bulb for the rest. Vanity lights I picked up on ebay.

Awesome, I might just get them from superbrightleds then since they are cheaper...I'm wondering how the blue would look though as opposed to white lol decisions decisions....

I've got the cool white ones, love them! I like blue, but figured it's safer to go with white to not get a ticket

I saw 19 led lights on ebay, would those better than that 9 led lights on vled?
