So I was running my 95 KA with modified computer from Jim Wolf Tech.I just finished turbo charging it anf=d was thinking of taking it to get dynoed & Tuned.I was told you that the only people that can tune it up would be JWT. I was also told I should'nt be driving the car with that JWT set up because it was set up for stock KA. So can anybody tell me if that sounds right. Also I heard of people running stock computers with there set up. My only concern is that I blow the motor doing that. Thanks Luis

Yes, everything they told you is correct. A JWT N/A tune will advance the timing to make more power. With a turbo you will need the tune reworked for your new larger injectors and perhaps a different MAF. Also, JWT will pull timing based on how much boost you run and will enrich fuel into the 11.5-11.9 range. And JWT encripts their tunes so ony they can retune it.

So is that a good or bad thing? ( JWT Tuning Only)

BAD IMO for $500 you can get an enthalpy ECU better than jwt from most peoples' opinions. Ever change your set-up $125 for a retune and he send oyu the chips to just snap in your ecu so 0 downtime with your car.

So let me ask you I am planning on driving over to JWT on Friday to modify my computer. You think it would be ok to drive my car over there. I changed my injectors back to stock and will not be boosting. It is about a 2 hr drive . What do you think?

As long as you keep it under light throttle/load it will be fine. If you boost it however you will probably blow your engine.

If your getting your ECU reflashed, you have to tell the guy that you want to ugprade your MAF and tell him that your going to be running a Z32, or a N62 MAF. He will make the nessicary adjustments, and then you will only be able to run your car with that MAF.

You might not need it though, are you making more than 250 hp? Or do you plan to? If your not you would be fine with your stock Maf.

At this point I am not doing that much horsepower. Still running everything stock. Eventually i would like to be at 250 +. I dont have the Maf yet though.

It's a T3 turbo on a stock KA so everything I've read is to only boost about 6-8 lbs to be safe. So for now that is what im looking at.

Any more Specs on the T3? Internal External waste gate, whats the PSI set to.

Cause you know there is T3's out there that can put you above 250 lbs of torque at 8psi.

Hmm not sure then. I've had that turbo a long time now. It came off an FJ20T Turbo motor. When it was in the car we use to boost it up to 15lbs. It does have external wastegate and I am installing a boost knob to be able to adjust to the 6-8 lbs. I have 3700cc injectors, intercooler. I added a picture of the turbo.
