Pull the engine, dude! You can't access all the mains with the engine in the car. I've done it on my FWD applications, but the main bearings are a Bee with an itch to change. It's no fun, time consuming and is the worst short cut to try with this engine.

You can do it in a weekend if you focus on the task at hand. And please for the love of god, don't drink and wrench or your engine will be the fatality .

I drink while working on my car all the time, thank you.

But yeah, I'll be doing a similar job this weekend. Just know that somewhere, there will be a fellow CA owner, drunk, working on the bottom end of his engine. Oh, and I'll be doing some welding too, so yeah, drunk welding.
