my passenger side bulb was very dim, and the light filled both the lowbeam and high beam housings (zenki S14)...almost as if both highbeam and low beam was on but were both very dim.

when the headlight's working right, when the low beam is on, the lowbeam light DOES NOT fill the highbeam housing, but on my passenger side the light fills the entire housing w/ a dim light.

So I replaced the bulb and it was fine... then after some driving it went back to being dim, now it's fine again...

I looked at the socket andi t seems to have some burn/melted marks, but what I don't get is why the highbeam housing was also lighted up, amybe I did not place the bulb correctly and secureit right with the metal clip, although this is unlikely since I amde sure it was secure. Thanks!

what happen was the low beam side likely shorted to the high beam side for that side of the car. this cause a cross feed of power to the other circuit. repair/replace the connector.

thanks!

edit: forogt to ask, so replacing the socket and the wire harness would take care of it? Also, would it be better to splice into the wire with a new socket or should I replace the whole harness?

re edit: I did some more searching using diff. keywords on FA and came up w/ a guy w/ the exact same problem. They adviced him to buy a new socket and splice it into the harness, which is what I think I'm going to do unless I find the enter harness.
