A question for you autocross guys, anybody know where I can get some traffic cones / pylons? As in, not by stealing them from some construction company -_- (Yes, I got this answer from someone earlier) I'd like to use 'em to help me set up a skidpad...but I've never really seen where to buy them from. Preferably an offline solution for convenience. ty

I can sell you some. but I stole them from constuction sites.

what you should do is drive around and look for cones that have been forgotten. pick those up. I've only took like 4 out of my 16 cones from a place where they were activly in use.

One thing you could do is rent them. there is a place near by that does, but its not to cheap. Might not be the best ideas if you wanted to use them more than one weekend. just throwing out another option

thief them...easiest and cheapest, if you really think about it your paying for them anyway with taxes...you see the signs up "your tax dollars at work" well u paid for the cones too, besides one of my friends dads works for the WVDHW and he says they buy them by the truck load, they wont miss a few

I know that's the easiest/cheapest but what if...Let's see, unless you can run your own autocrosses, basically that would be stealing cones and setting them up as a skidpad, some C-boxes, or hairpins and messing around in some open public area aka parking lot.

It would be bad enough to be caught by the police "driving recklessly" or drifting (skidpad) around cones in some empty/near empty lot, but it would be worse if they figured out that you'd stole the cones from various places, which I think they would easily. Especially if some of 'em were police cones. Stealing police property anyone? It doesn't sound bad but in a real scenario you'd probably get pretty reamed by the officer for it.

Anyone have experience with this? That's why I want my legit cones, so I don't get uber-hassled, since I don't own my own 2 acre cement pond =p

I have a friend that works for lighting and traffic. He got me a few. The real cones are heavier than you think. I also seen Home Depot selling cones a while back.

Hell yes they are. Ones here in Germany are hefty as hell too. We grab those and the hazzard posts with the lights on them, from the... uh.. store...

this jackass i know acumulated over 100 in a year. he would specificly wait till they painted the lines down my street then he went and grabbed as many cones as he could fit in a couple of cars/trucks. the cops later found out. idk what ever happened with that tho. if ur gunna steal them, make sure it wont make it dangerous for others. cones are usually there for a reason
