i know our blocks are iron a big plus but how strong are our connecing rods. i have been parts hording for a good rebuild. I have been looking at pistons. i like that wieasco has many options for our ca compression. i have been thinking about increasing my compression to posable 9-1 and max out boost 15 psi normally be below that should i also do connecting rods im trying to get a solid awnser because they are expensive.

Those stock rods can take whatever you throw at them, so no need to upgrade. Be careful when trying to jack-up the compression and boost on this engine. It likes to detonate and it is unforgiving to cheap folks who want to run 15psi or better without upgrading the engine management system.
