I picked upa 95 Q45 not long ago. Car's been running pretty good. The thing I do notice is that the AC has the tendency to form a lot of condensation. The pipe on top of the passenger side is constantly dripping on the exhaust/engine.

Also the condenser in front had been dripping a lot. I assume that's where the AC drain is? Is it normal to have that much water coming out from the AC?

Thanks

Depends on the humidity and the use of fresh air or recirculate.

Normal for water to drip out of a/c drain on passanger side firewall and hit exhaust and sizzle!

Condenser{in front of radiator} shouldnt drip at all, are you SURE it is not radiator/radiator hoses leaking ? I dont see how a condenser could drip water as it by design is HOTTER than surrounding air

Could be condensation from a low pressure line that has lost its insulation.

More likely a dripping draincock on the radiator. Time for a white paper towel or taste test!

I am pretty sure it is water, it doesnt have a taste of coolant to it. It comes from an area right in front of the radiator, so I assume it is condensation. I don't get it all the time, happened to notice it the last couple of days. It hasnt appeared since. I always see my AC line cover in water when I pop the hood, so I just want to make sure.

Thanks

I would just keep an eye on your coolant level... there may be a difference on how things are routed and dripping on the 95 vs. my 90.

Nope, never had any condensation in that area o my 96Q in the last 200K+ miles I have driven it.......double, triple check radiator/hoses for small leaks.

If original, the radiator is suspect to weep/leak from cracking plastic end tanks or petcock....catch it now before it lets go and possibly takes the aluminum engine with it.
