Hey guys, I'm looking into buying a used, high mileage EX35, I know this is the G35 forum, but apparently nobody over there has any info, so I was hoping you guys could be a bit more helpful. Anyway, I had a PPI done on the car and everything checked out fine except for the fact that a P0014 code was cleared about 400 miles ago along with an oil change being done. I've done as much research as I can on this code, but can't figure out if it's a big enough issue to walk away from the car. Seems like the fix for that code could be as small as an oil change, or as large as replacing sprockets at over $2,500. There's a few threads I've found on it, but there's never an answer posted at the end of them. So do you guys happen to know if this is that big a deal? Is it a big enough concern that I shouldn't consider the car? Is it common on Infiniti's to have this code? Car has 98k miles on it, but other than that checked out very solid.

Thanks is advance for any input!

I try and stay away from high mileage cars for just these reasons...but I will say that I didn't like my EX35 loaner...the trunk was smaller than my G37! I needed to swap it out for a G37 sedan to fit my stroller when I had work done!

As for the code, feel free to check out the FSM (link in my sig).

It's not really a common code that I've run across and that code can be cause by dirty oil. From there it goes up and up as most maintenance places will start replacing part after part and charging you along the way. 98k is really no big deal IF the vehicle has been maintained. If it was a lease and driven into the ground then that's another matter.

Thanks guys. I ended up buying a different one with a bit less miles. Very clean history and just a better overall vehicle. Hopefully none of this becomes an issue. So far loving the EX...do wish the seats were a little more fitted coming from BMW sport seats, but other than that, it's a pleasure to drive. Thanks again for the help.

Good deal. I liked the EX when I did a big test drive when they first came out. The only negative I remember was the awkward size of the rear when trying to load groceries.
