Greetings All,

I have a rebuilt KA24DE that just failed after 6000mi. I don't know the exact cause, but my guess is a cracked block and coolant getting into the oil.

Naturally, I'm concerned about installing a new re-built.

Is there any reason to be concerned about re-built engines. Is boring the cylinders a concern?

Has anyone else experienced similar problems?

Thanks in advance,

-AJ

8 months after I built my ka24e from scratch, 1 cylinder was missing. Until I dismantled the engine, I thought the piston or ring was broken. The cylinder gasket is burnt out between the two cylinders because the cover bolt has elongated. Did you change the cap bolts while rebuilding?
